I’m looking for a solid entry-level sales position. Given that I’m looking for entry-level, a strong training program is essential to me. While I don’t have experience in sales, you don’t need that for entry level sales positions, you simply need to be the type of person that can be good at sales, which I am fairly certain that I am.
Anyone know some good places to look in Chicago? Or even nationally?
Obviously if someone knows one that they are aware IS hiring, that’s great, but I simply want to know what some good ones are (as in good base+incentives, perks, etc). Chances are if you have 7+ years of sales experience you’re either applying to something above entry level, haven’t succeeded enough in sales to qualify for a higher position, OR are too experienced for companies to want to hire you (there is such a thing, and that’s tough, so I hope for your sake that’s not the problem). Thanks for your input though, and I’m sorry you got laid off. I had that happen earlier this year too, but it was a blessing in disguise. Maybe yours will be too.
This isn’t directed at just you, Kapn, but seriously…I wish someone would actually focus on my original question rather than the question people seem to THINK I’m asking. I’m not asking, “hey what’s a dream sales company that will pay me 100K in my first year that’s hiring now and easy to get a job at?”
I began taking photos of my nephews in youth baseball and football a couple of years ago. Soon after I was taking photos of their teammates and handing them out to their parents. I seemed to be doing a pretty good job because they became quite popular. I was approached by a parent that mentioned to me that I could make a little extra money form this hobby. I have no proffesional training and I never took a course. I have an old cannon eos and a EF 80-200mm lens. I have always paid retail for my film developing. I’ve done some research as to how to solicit my work and gaining access to high school sporting events, also establishing a DBA. I would also look into upgarding my equipment. I just haven’t figured out how to go about developing my proofs and developing photos that are ordered in various sizes. Do I need to buy the printer or is it possible to pay someone wholesale for developing? This can make or break my plan.

I work in an inbound call center and I have only been there for three months. I saw a posting for Sr Reps and Captains and am interested in applying. I have much experience in the retail sales but this is my first job in telesales.
I was taken advantage of in my last job as a department manager trainee in an elctronic store, where I worked as a supervisor for six months without the title. I also had another job with a similar situation only the co. was so small that they did not have a title associated with their training program and due to unfortunate circumstances I had to relocate before I was promoted.
